【For KU Students】Kyoto Students Talk Session 2:Deadline November 14, 2024

— To undergraduate and graduate students at Kyoto University,

This 2nd Intercultural Co-Learning Seminar will bring together students from Kyoto University and those from Chinese universities sent by a Japan-China business exchange organization. As a side event for Kyoto Summer Program (KSP) 2024, the seminar provides an opportunity for the two groups of students to learn together, gain diverse perspectives, and forge new friendships. All Kyoto University students are welcome to join, regardless of their past participation in the KSP.

*Partial participation in the Special Lecture only or in the Student Discussion Session only is also possible.

[Special Lecture]
Lecturer: Liyou HAN, 　Associate Professor, Institute for Liberal Arts and Sciences, Kyoto University
Lecture Title: Education, scientific research and innovation at Japanese universities
Introduction: In the fields of natural sciences, the number of Japanese Nobel laureates has been the second largest after the United States throughout the 21st century. This lecture will explore specific characteristics of education, research and innovation at Japanese universities that have contributed to the success.

[Students Discussion Session]
Joint discussions will be held between Chinese university students and Kyoto University students on common topics facing countries around the world. Specific topics will be announced later to participants.
